The South Asian Cochrane Network & Centre (SACNC) shares the mission of the Cochrane Collaboration in aiming to help people make well-informed decisions about health care by preparing, maintaining and promoting the accessibility of systematic reviews of the effects of healthcare interventions and the accuracy of diagnostic tests.
The South Asian Cochrane Network & Centre (SACNC) aims to improve the quality of health care and health policy in the region through

• the increased capacity among health professionals to understand and to conduct systematic reviews; the increased use of evidence in health care derived from systematic reviews of evaluations of the effects of interventions and the accuracy of diagnostic tests;
• the increased dissemination of the results of systematic reviews of interventions in health care and evaluation of their usefulness to clinicians, policy makers and people with health care needs;
• identification of gaps in the evidence and prioritization of interventions requiring systematic reviews or trials, and
• improving the quality of design, conduct and reporting of clinical trials conducted in the region
